Reflections:film “Stranger than Fiction"

When we are announced to die soon, what would we do, anger or escape, or be despaired? College professor Randy Pausch received a report about only six mouths left to live, instead of dwelling on complaining the death, he chose to speak of hope, in his speech, titled "Last Lecture", the part one focusing on “Really achieving your childhood dream" he met the TV show star Captain Kirk, designed the virtual reality Aladdin ride at Disney World and developed a computer application named Alice, which teaches children to program computers through creating of writing a story. His "Last Lecture" has been viewed by over six million people on Youtube.
What is you really want to do in your deep mind? We should be careful to check out. We always got some dreams in our childhoods, when we grow up; we are so busy that we don't fulfill them anymore. I remembered I want to travel the world, I remembered I want to learn playing the piano; I remembered I want to learn how to play the roller skating spin. I remembered I want to learn English to chat with foreigners. little did I do for these things, I never go abroad, I couldn't spin in roller skating, I couldn't play piano with easy notes, I couldn't chat with foreigners at ease.
Death is not terrible, the worst thing is living but never to live meaningfully, living without doing what is in our deep mind. Harold choose to try to change his fate, he actively found the author Karen to change his fate, he got action, not just be despaired, angry, or escape.
I like the part that the hero Harold didn't want to die, but when he knew he would die for saving a child from being hit by a bus, he was relieved to die for the thing that he thought it was valuable. We often complain many things that why they didn't go as we hope, but maybe it always get its value.
It just likes the story of the old man Saigh who lost his horses and regained other wild horses, it doesn't mean it would be better or be worse than ever. When Saigh lost his horses, he felt sad, but a few days later, his horses went home with other wild horses, then he felt so happy for gaining so many wild horses. One day, his only son rode the wild horse but fell down to break his legs, the man Sight was sad badly, he complained that why he wanted to keep these wild horses, he complained his horses shouldn't bring wild horses home. A few months passed, the troops need men to fight with other enemies, many men were dead when fighting with enemies; the only young man needn't go to fight with enemy was the son of Sight, for his breaking legs, the troops didn’t want him to fight with enemies. The Sight was so happy and thanked for his horses bring the wild horses to break the legs of his only son. Things always have their value.
I like the part that the heroine Ana Pascal, she was a student of Harvard university, but when she know what her potential and interest was, she suspended her school studying, and devoted herself on baking. Many people study or work, but don't know why they do so, and even they don't like doing those things, they just do and complain so much. I have taught for so many years, but I don't know if this work is my favorite work or not. I just know I feel content for my teaching life up to now. She got active action; she really has her own thoughts.
Another thing I like Ana Pascal is she always give breads to stray men and helped them. She got so sympathy and so kind, when she talked to the stray, she was so tender. I could felt her hearty mind full of love, and the most important thing is she is content and happy to do these things.
Many people live their lives so regular that they don't know why they should do that, they just feared this and feared that, they don't want to do anything different; it has better to be the same every day. "Choose what you love, love what you choose." make up your mind, and love to accept the results what you have done affects. But it is really hard to do so. We always fear to love, we fear to give, we are afraid of that we might get injury, we might be fooled. Harold like to. After more contacting with Ana Pascal and wasting some time, Harold realize he should choose what he love and accept what it would happen. So he awkward said to her “I want you”. He knew he couldn’t make friends with his customer, if he was found, he might be fired. But he made up his mind; choose to live with his mind.
In fact, giving might be a feedback itself.
The author Karen unconsciously determined the death of the hero Harold, I wonder if it is possible that we unconsciously determined the death of the other creatures or persons, maybe I don't think it would hurt others, but it really did, so I should be cautious to do things.
The Buddhist said “Life is between the breath", when I could breathe, we should thank being given. All we could do is living at this moment, enjoying this moment.
