My reflections about "All about Lily Chou-Chou" part (1): ~by Cheng
At the first sight, my eyes were caught on the green color of the rice field. Gradually, my heart filled with various emotions as the film played. The green, blue, red, gray, white and black colors turned one by one, the bully, the death, the piano-playing and the screaming scenes impressed me deeply. The music was like the light, spread out the screen of my mind and faded away gradually. It caused me to think about something in my childhood, I didn't remember why, I just knew that I doubted my parents " Am I really your child? " and felt some anger that wanted to stab the bully (I didn't remember why, either). Although that was so long ago, I knew that it had really happened.
This film made the sound resonate of my deep heart. It is a story about the abandoned soul of teens. It seems to be a photo shot of the process of the teen in whole life. It reminded me of the feeling of the depression, frustration, isolation, not being understood and even suicide.
"Wheat Field With Crows" by Van Gogh
This film makes me think about a painting of Van Gogh's "Wheat Field With Crows". The wheat field was bright and gold with waving and moving, the black clouds covered the whole sky with roaring, two gray clouds curling up, announcing the storm was coming soon, the black crows flew away from the wheat field, which seemed to warn that there was something awful would occur. We know that Van Gogh committed suicide with a gun after finishing this painting. Is this what the colors and the music lights of the film want to tell us?
